Please return this equipment

To the editor:

A good friend and neighbor is nice enough to use his own equipment and time to maintain the unpaved section of Cubles Drive in Bokeelia. Everyone that lives in this neighborhood benefits from this man’s work. One afternoon, about a week or so ago, our friend left a piece of equipment on the side of the road, at our driveway, temporarily.

The next morning, to our disappointment, the very heavy piece of steel was gone. We hope that the person(s) that took it didn’t hurt themselves because it is very heavy. Our friend went out to look for it and even went to the junk yard to “buy” it back if someone had sold it there. When this piece of steel was described to the man at the junk yard, he guessed that it would be worth “maybe” $7.

If anyone knows about this piece of steel, it would be really nice if they would bring it back. We will even give you the $7.
