Hookers say thanks
To the editor:
Our first annual “Hooked On Seniors” Dinner Dance was a great success! Thank you to all the volunteers from The Matlacha Hookers and The Beacon of Hope, along with many of their family members, who donated their time, energy and salad items. A big thank you to The Elks Club for their hospitality and to The Bombaleros for getting everyone out on the dance floor! We also want to give our gratitude to the following businesses for donating food items to our event: Vesuvio’s, Red’s Fresh Seafood House, Morietti’s Seafood, Miceli’s, Little Lilly’s Island Deli, Sandy Hook and Sysco Food. Thank you also to Southwest Capital for sponsoring the bracelets!
Thank you to everyone who attended the dance, making it such a success and helping us to make a positive difference in our community. We raised $2,000 for the Beacon of Hope, dedicated to the seniors of Pine Island! Our next installment in our “Hooked On Seniors” series will be a golf scramble at Alden Pines Country Club on Saturday, Aug. 14. Tickets are available at The Beacon of Hope, Trader’s Hitching Post, Little Lilly’s Island Deli and at Alden Pines on the day of the event. Hope to see you there!
