VFW and Legion honor our military
To the editor:
Congratulations to the Pine Island VFW and American Legion for their joint Memorial Day ceremony. The occasion is always moving and meaningful. Those in attendance this year included some from elementary school to some nearing the century mark. Even the traffic whizzing past on Stringfellow could not diminish the solemnity of the occasion. How fortunate we are to be able to acknowledge publicly the sacrifices of those who have gone before us.
