Thank you from the Pine Island Food Pantry
To the editor:
Again this year the Pine Island Food Pantry has benefited from the Letter Carriers drive to Stamp out Hunger. Our thanks to the men and women carriers and the postal employees of the Island who made this event happen. This year the pantry received over two and a half tons of food. This will help the pantry make it through the summer months. And this year the Pantry has joined with the United Methodist Church to continue their backpack program in an effort to provide food this summer to our elementary students.
A special thanks to the pantry volunteers for their efforts to see that no one goes hungry. Its another example of Pine Islands caring and sharing attitude. Thanks to all who were involved.
