News about VA health care
To the Editor:
For the first time in six years, veterans in Priority Group 8 will be allowed into the VA’s health care system. This group of vets includes those who have no service-connected wounds, are rated as 0 percent disabled or have incomes higher than the VA’s lowest accepted threshold. In other words, just about every one who applies.
If you want into the health system, this is the time to enroll. We have some forms at the American Legion (10-10-EZ) or if you need help with the form, call me, Dick Thomas, at 283-3563. The best bet would be to go to the Fort Myers Out Patient Clinic and fill one out there. It is located at 3033 Winkler Avenue Extension, Fort Myers, FL 33916. Phone 939-3939.
Do it now before they close it off again, there are about 266,000 vets eligible.
