Donations cease at post office

To the Editor:

For the last several weeks, a small article was run titled “Collecting items for our troops” seeking items to be donated to the troops, as well as monetary donations to offset shipping costs. Donations were to be dropped off at the Bokeelia Post Office. Donated items have been sent to the military, but monetary contributions may not be given to the USPS or those associated with it. Donated money has been returned and further donations will not be accepted.
