Bobby Holloway Memorial Tournament

2 min read

To the Editor,

I would like to take the time to thank all the people who so generously dedicate their time and resources to make the Bobby Holloway Memorial fishing tournament a success that gives back so much to the Pine Island youth. A heart felt thanks goes to Ernestine Squires and family, Carlyn and Ralph Herring, Elsie Sterns and family, Pine Island Fire Department, Kibbee and Company, Dan Holloway and all the people who make it a success for so many years to help keep lil Bobs memory alive and give back to a community that we have all been Blessed to live in.

Thank you for choosing me as one of the recipients of the higher education scholarship grant money. Words can not properly express my gratitude and how humbled I am to be picked as one of the many to receive money generated through it. Out of your sorrow and greatest loss you have given back so generously to a community by giving to me and many other Pine Island young adults. I can only hope I can live up to the high expectations and one day give back to a community that has always taken care of its own in furthering my education to be a surgical technician.

I could not do this without your help and love. Know that lil Bob will always live in my heart and I will forever cherish the memories in my heart of such a great young man who I had the pleasure of going to school with and playing base ball with from T-ball and on. He is greatly missed by my family and this island but will forever live through the generosity and giving of your hearts. Please pray that I am given the wisdom and strength that it takes to make it through school so I can give back to a community that has always given to me and been there for me.

Much love and gratitude,

Heather Reppa
