Thank you letter carriers, residents and volunteers
To the Editor:
The best way to learn what a person does is to walk a mile in their shoes. Or in this case, drive a few of the miles that our local letter carriers do on a daily basis. For the first time our food pantry volunteers set out to collect food items for the needy, attempting to lighten the load of our letter carriers, who, in addition to delivering the mail, donate their time each year to pick up food left at mailboxes. Believe us, the job is monumental. We wish to say a heartfelt “thank you” to all involved. Again the letter carries came through for the hungry. Also thanks to the many residents who left food to be collected. This year’s drive was a fantastic success and all food will be distributed on the island. Our appreciation to the many volunteers who came to help with categorizing and separating food items. Thank you one and all, we look forward to your help and support next year.
