Thank you from the Sketchers
To the Editor:
The Peter Quigley Outdoor Sketch Group would like to thank everyone who celebrated the “Scenes of Pine Island” at our art show and sale. Special thanks are extended to Nicole Lauber, our gracious hostess, the general manager of the Sandy Hook Restaurant in Matlacha.
The Peter Quigley Outdoor Sketchers would like to thank the Pine Island Eagle for its fine job on the art show advertisement. The Eagle also performs a public service each week as it publishes our weekly locations for sketching in the “Community Calendar.”
The Outdoor Sketchers support drawing, sketching and painting on location, from life. Beginners are always welcome. The members of the group are grateful to all of the Pine Island organizations and businesses that have opened their doors to the Outdoor Sketchers, including the Sandy Hook Restaurant, the Olde Fish House Marina, Capt’n Con’s, Lazy Flamingo, the Waterfront Restaurant and Marina, the Bokeelia Tarpon Inn, the Tarpon Lodge at Pineland, Crossed Palms Gallery, Koucky’s Gallery and Gardens, the Randell Research Center at Pineland, WildChild Gallery, Lovegrove Gallery and Gardens, Larimer’s Exotic Gardens, Mango Tango Tropicals, Pine Island Feed and Garden Center, Joel and Genevre Koonz, St. John’s Episcopal Church, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, Dale and Jan Walters, Joe Eisenberg, the Pine Island Library, Alden Pines Golf Course, Bob and Annie’s Boatyard, the Ragged Ass Saloon, Lee County Parks at Matlacha Park and Tropical Point, the Clausa Land Trust preserves, Fritts Park and St. Judes Nature Trail, and the Tropic Star for the fabulous day trips to Cabbage Key and Cayo Costa.
For lunch, the Outdoor Sketchers patronize our local restaurants listed above as well as these fine restaurants: Vesuvio’s, Moretti’s, Le’s Oriental Cuisine, Little Lilly’s Island Deli, Pork Bellies, Woody’s Waterside, the Perfect Cup, Bert’s Bar and Grill, Mulletville and the Raymary Street Grill.
The Outdoor Sketchers wish to thank our volunteer art teacher, Pat Townsend, and our volunteer coordinator, Carol Sands.
