Successful book signing
To the Editor:
“The Images of America: Pine Island” signing event hosted by Monroe Canal Marina in St. James City on Feb. 14 was a compete success! I want to thank island “legends” featured in the book for their part in the success. Among those attending were Bob and Nancy Brooks (of Ft. Wayne, Ind.); Doris and Maurice Stevens; Virginia (Padilla) Morton; Dortothy Muske; Rocky Lamp; Dotty Hunt; Ann Mclemore; George Williamson; Susan Laffitte; Judy Baxley; Bob and Colette Hawkins; Bill and Joan McNagny (of Ft. Wayne, Ind.); and Susie (Padilla) Robertson. Thank you to George Williamson and Al/Gretchen Zeller for providing the food for the event. Approximately 160 attendees enjoyed having the “legends” autograph their photos featured in the book and tell of the “good ol’ days” on Pine Island.
