Open apology to those I have offended
To the editor:
I do realize that I have been guilty of hurting the feelings of certain people on Pine Island.
I greatly apologize for my razor-sharp tongue, and for not thinking before I speak. I am not offering the following statement as an excuse for my actions, but merely as an explanation. I have always been quicker to react than to think.
If something or someone rubs me the wrong way, then I am quick to voice my honest opinion and feelings on the subject. I do not believe in sugar coating manure as it wouldn’t change the taste or the odor. I was always taught to express my feelings. Unfortunately, I listened and learned that lesson all too well, and I took it out of context. I have always been an extremist.
Has this always worked in my favor? Quite the contrary. Have I ever learned from my mistake? Apparently not or I wouldn’t be apologizing for it now. I had an eye-opening experience last week that brought to my attention just how wrong I have been. I do not have any remorseful feelings toward the people that I have angered and offended. My anger was misplaced and uncalled for. You all have my deepest and sincerest apologies.
