Obama is everybody’s President, like it or not, but please…

To the Editor:

I had to chuckle at the effusive and over-the-top praise for Barack Obama combined with the multiple-warhead attack on both George Bush and Chief Justice John Roberts for Roberts’ mistake in leading Obama in the oath of office during the Inauguration. On the one hand, the writer, after just two days in office, judged Obama about the Best President Ever (and superior in intelligence to all white men, apparently) and, on the other hand, managed to shoot himself in the foot, rhetorically. He attacked Roberts for his memory lapse no less than seven times by my count, but then proceeded to praise Obama for chastising Joe Biden’s “sophomoric attack” on Roberts’ memory lapse. Sophomoric, indeed. We all hope Obama succeeds in protecting our nation and fixing the economy (with the help of the private sector). Some of us hope he fails if he means to move us toward European socialism. Regardless of which side you are on, try not to let your schoolgirl-like crushes be quite so obvious.
