To the Editor:

I’m not sure I understand the reasoning behind the ramp project. The county purchased the property to be used as a Lee County facility. How did Tropic Star acquire the contract to manage it? What are the general terms of the contract? Why did the county pay to double the ramp size, add a kayak launch and then reduce parking by half? What will the other half of the parking lot be used for?

Our parking decals will not be honored this fall for some reason, so I’m curious as to what the fees will be.

What’s the advantage for Lee County taxpayers and boaters? What’s in it for Tropic Star?
