To the Editor:
Once again the annual Pine Island Junior Olympics had great weather and fun was had by all the kids. This annual event (23 years) would not be possible without all our great sponsors.
Lee County Parks and Recreation, along with the Kiwanis Club of Greater Pine Island, would like to say a special thanks to all our sponsors.
Century 21 Sunbelt Realty, Pine Island Dairy Queen, Waggoner and Bruehl PA and Kiwanis Club of Greater Pine Island for the T-shirts. SunTrust Bank for all the silver dollars and Kiwanis for the nice trophies.
Lee County Parks and Recreation for setting up the field for all the events and filling out all the ribbons and keeping track of scores.
A huge thanks goes out to all the volunteers that helped out with the event and for the Kiwanis for cooking and serving hot dogs. A big thanks to Lee County maintenance for cleaning up the field afterwards.
Mark your calendar for the first Saturday in December 2009 for the 24th annual Junior Olympics.
