Marilyn Anita Porthouse

Marilyn Anita Porthouse died peacefully on May 9, 2020 in Pine Island, FL. She was 79 years young.

Mrs. Porthouse was born on June 22, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to her parents, George and Mary Planding. She was a graduate in 1957 from Dominican Commercial High School in Jamaica, Queens, NY. She married William Joseph Porthouse in 1962. The Porthouses moved to Lake Grove, Long Island, NY where Marilyn worked as an administrative assistant in the merchandising division of Walt Disney Productions in New York. The Porthouses moved to Winter Park, FL in 1967. She was a loving stay at home mother, later working at a Winter Park Prosthetics Clinic, Sunniland Corp and the University of Central Florida. She retired in 1993, landing in Bokeelia, FL and dedicated her remaining time to family and being an amazing host to all who visited.

Mrs Porthouse is survived her son William Porthouse Jr and daughter-in-law Katrina Porthouse of Oviedo, FL; her son Christopher Porthouse of Bokeelia, FL; her daughter Catherine Porthouse and son-in-law Frederick Sinclair of Destrehan, LA; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph Porthouse; brother, George Planding; and sister, Doris Planding Sinnet.

On Saturday September 26 at 11:30 am a service will be held on Pine Island, Florida for Mrs. Porthouse at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. On Monday, September 28 from 10:00 am to 10:15 am the internment and blessing will be performed at the Queen of Angels Catholic Cemetery in Winter Park, Florida.
