Dorothy E “Dot” Whittemore
Dorothy E “Dot” Whittemore, 94, of Onset, formerly of St. James City, Pine Island, FL, died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at her home in Onset. She was the wife of the late William G. Whittemore.
Mrs. Whittemore was born in Holyoke, MA. She was the daughter of the late Louis & Mary Agnes (Scanlon) Vadnais. Mrs. Whittemore travelled the globe extensively and lived in Saudi Arabia and Cypress during her husband’s career as a contractor. She retired to St. James City, Pine Island, Florida 20 years ago, where she was an active resident in the community. Mrs. Whittemore never missed a Halloween and always dressed in costume up until she turned 90.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Evans and her husband David of Onset; her step-sons, Russell Evasius of Monson, MA and Richard Evasius and his wife, Bobbie of Sylvania, OH; her grandchildren, Kristin Moniz and her husband Ryan of Plymouth, MA, William Garrippa of Foxboro, MA, Krystal Semple of Onset, Richard Evasius of N. Granby, CT and Darrin, Dean and Danny Evasius all of Monson. She was also survived by several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.
