Dale R. Jedlick Jr.

In the arms of the lord, Dale R. Jedlick Jr., 45, known to his family as Bub, passed away Sept. 23, 2014. He was the son of Dale R. Jedlick Sr. and Melody Pearce Jedlick, born July 22, 1969. He was the 5th generation in his family from Pine Island and a descendant of Capt. John Smith.

He moved to Orlando in the late 1980s where he was known as Jed and Big D; he cooked at upscale restaurants and resorts for about 15 years before returning home to Pine Island. He has made many new friends the last 9 years while cooking at local establishments; most recently Froggy’s where most knew him as Dale.

He was a loyal Bucs fan since about 9 years old, well knowledged in world events, enjoyed playing the guitar, movies and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his father, Dale R. Jedlick Sr.; sister, Shanda Jedlick Herbott (Dave); nephews, Brett and Josh Herbott; aunts, Kay Cousins, Jacqueline Jedlick and Carol and Charles Brown; numerous cousins; many good friends, all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Melody Jedlick.

A celebration of life will be held at Pine Island United Methodist Church, Saturday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m., followed by a reception at Froggy’s in St. James City.
