Donald Robert Sandelier Sr.

Donald Robert Sandelier Sr., 74, beloved husband of Eleanor for over 54 years, passed away April 28, 2014.

He was predeceased by his two sons, Donald R. Sandelier Jr. and Paul A. Sandelier; two sisters, Dorothy A. (Harold) Funnell and Joan L. (Phillip) Walls.

He was born in Clayton, N.J., Jan. 14, 1940, to Peter and Mary N. (Guarro) Sandelier, now deceased. He leaves a daughter, Wanda Lynn Boley of Bear, Del.; five grandchildren, Theresa N. (Christian) Craig, David A. Boley Jr., Donald R. Sandelier III, Michael R. Sandelier and Monica M. Sandelier; four great-grandchildren, Rachael L. Craig, Gabriel R. Craig, Gianna Sandelier and Santino Brunson; two brothers, Peter (Phyllis) Sandelier of Turnersville, N.J., and Steven (Michelle) Sandelier, Sr. of Presque Isle, Maine; two sisters, Loretta Skermont of Malaga, N.J., and Karen (John) Whiting of Clayton, N.J.; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Mr. Sandelier enjoyed family and friends, always joking and having a smile for everyone. He loved riding his motorcycle, fishing, traveling in a camper across this country and riding around in his 1976 Dodge baby blue club cab truck.

He was a member of the P.I. Moose #1954, always helping where he was needed, even wearing an elf suit for the children at Christmas. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in Newark, Del., in November 1988 and moved to St. James City. He enjoyed life and will be missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of his life service will be held Saturday, May 10, at 3 p.m., at the Pine Island United Methodist Church, located at 5701 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia.
