Maurice E. “M.E.” McCoy Jr., 89, of Bokeelia went to be with his heavenly family Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013. Born Sept. 20, 1923, to Maurice E. McCoy Sr. and Vera Hoag McCoy, in Little Rock, Arkansas, “M.E.” was preceded in death by his parents, a stillborn twin and his loving wife of 66 years, Audrey (Hoyle).
He is survived by brother, Richard McCoy of Naples, Fla.; sister, Mayneal Wayland of Middlebury, Vt.; sons, Leonidas F. (Louise) McCoy of Pettigrew, Ark., and Maurice E. (Ed) McCoy of Bokeelia; grandchildren, Joanna McCoy and her husband, Will Seitz, of Boston, Marina McCoy of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Audrey Lee McCoy of Fayetteville, Ark.; and great-grandson, Noah Hoyle Seitz.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m., at Pine Island United Methodist Church, 5701 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia (pichurch.@comcast.net) followed by inurnment at Coral Ridge Cemetery, Cape Coral.
