Robert (Bob) Gredlics
Robert (Bob) Gredlics, 68, of Bokeelia and New Tripoli, Pa., formerly of Allentown, Pa., died on June 14, 2013, at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, after being diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare, fast-moving and untreatable brain disease. He was born and raised in Bethlehem, Pa., the son of the late Charles and Rose (Rum) Gredlics.
He was an accountant for Lehigh Valley/Conrail/Norfolk Southern for over 30 years before retiring. He and his first wife of 33 years, Marilyn, owned and operated Vette Finders, a business that located Corvettes. He was a founder and lifetime member of the Allentown Corvette Club, where he served as president and vice president for several terms. He was a member of the National Corvette Restorer’s Society, the Solid Axle Corvette Club, NCCC, the Antique Auto Club of America, and Pine Island Moose Lodge #1954.
He spent winters on Pine Island and summers in Pennsylvania, where he and his newlywed enjoyed car shows, road trips, kayaking, water aerobics, playing cards and time with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, who will be remembered for his feisty personality and as a dedicated V T Hokie & Corvette fanatic.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn (Freudenberger).
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Kurtas) and will lovingly be remembered by his daughters, Melissa A. (Jonathan) McCaverty of El Segundo, Calif., and Michelle L. (Jason) Kovac of Blacksburg, Va.; his grandchildren, Marilyn, Ryan and Tyler; and his sister, Betty Ann (the late Cornelius) Enright, Jr. of Bethlehem.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
