Maria G. Chiavatti (nee DiFilice), 94, died peacefully at her home of natural causes surrounded by family July 5, 2013. Mrs. Chiavatti was well known as “Momma Bella” at Pizza Bella’s Pizzaria on Matlacha.
She was born in Leognano, Italy, May 12, 1919. She married Paolo Chiavatti and had four children, Italo, Claudio, Angela and Anna.
Just nine years ago she followed her son Italo and daughter-in-law Lilly to Florida where she enjoyed greeting customers at the restaurant.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paolo, and daughter, Claudio.
She is survived by three children, Italo, Angela and Anna; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Bokeelia.
