William Alan May
William Alan May, 91, of Cape Coral, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013. He was born May 27, 1921, in Detroit, Mich., to William and Evelyn Benson May.
He moved to Florida in 1974, coming from Dearborn, Mich.
He was a lifetime member of the Ford Yacht Club in Grosse Isle, Misch., and the Dearborn Lodge No. 172, F & A.M.
He is survived by his loving family, including his daughter, Gail Ann Beesley of Cape Coral; grandson, Bill Schilk; great-grandchildren, Jessica (Seth) Jordan, Joseph, Ashley, Nicole, Daniel, Andrew and Marissa; great-great-grandchildren, Aden, Natalie, Eli and Kassandra.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oveta May, on Dec. 13, 2005; and granddaughter, Gail Lynn Startt.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, from 1 p.m. until the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, at 1630 Pine Island Road, Cape Coral. Entombment will be at the Coral Ridge Cemetery.
