Carol (Jackson) Paulson

Carol (Jackson) Paulson, 74, of St. James City, passed away peacefully Oct. 29, 2012. She was born on Feb. 25, 1939, in Milaca, Minn., to Algot and Edith Jackson (Lamprecht).
She married Eugene Leiner in 1958 and raised two children, Greg and Shari, primarily in Robbinsdale, Minn. Later in life, she married Roger Paulson and in 1999 moved to Pine Island.
Shortly after moving to Pine Island, she opened Sarah’s Consignment Shop which was quite successful and introduced Carol to the people on the island. In the meantime, Roger became involved with the American Legion and Carol joined the Auxiliary. She held several offices and for 4 1/2 years she was the president of Unit 136. She also was the treasurer for the 13th District. She inspired Unit 196 to become award-winning, was respected by all and she was known as a “mover and shaker.”
She lived her life fully, as a wife, as a mother, as a successful entrepreneur, business owner, employee and volunteer. She had many, many friends and enjoyed her family over the years in her various and interesting endeavors.
Living on Pine Island, she particularly enjoyed her responsibilities with the Pine Island American Legion 136, where she served as the president of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was well liked and known as a “mover and shaker.”
She is survived by her two children along with four grandchildren, Margot, Tessa, Griffin Leiner and Andrew Smith.
Please feel free to make any type of donation you might like to the American Cancer Society on Carol’s behalf.
