Willis A. “Tony” George
Willis A. “Tony” George, 85, formerly from Pine Island, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012. He was a Realtor for many years, retiring from Pine Island Realty in St. James City. He was an avid bridge player at the St. James City Civic Association where he also served on the Board of Directors. He loved singing barbershop.
“Uncle Tony’ was born in Marion, Ind., and attended Indiana University, where he a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He also attended West Point Academy. He was retired from A&P food stores as a warehouse manager with 32 years of service.
He was preceeded in death by his first wife, Carolyn; his sisters, Roberta Krieg and Emily Perkins; and nephews, Richard Krieg and Steve Krieg.
Survivors include brothers-in-law, Phill Perkins and Mark Krieg; and nieces and nephews, Mark Krieg II, Shari Perkins, Darcy Perkins and Tony Perkins
Mr. George married the former Betty Sullivan, Cherry Estates, and moved with her family to Seviereville, Tenn., where he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #104. He frequently drove veterans to the hospital and attended funerals as a member of the honor guard. He was a member of the Senior Citizens Center and active in the Senior Citizens Singers.
Survivors include his wife, Betty George; step-sons, Scott Parker and Bruce (Gloria) Parker; and grandchildren, Brittany and Tori Parker;

A memorial service was held Friday, Oct. 19, at the First United Methodist Church, Sevierville with the Rev. Andrew Henry officiating. Military honors were provided by American Legion Post #104.
