Robert William Hodge, 88, of Bokeelia passed away Wednes-day, Oct. 11, 2012 from a heart attack in Matlacha Pass. He was born in Paris, Ill., Jan. 1, 1924. He moved to Florida in 1981.
While living in Illinois he owned and operated Hodge Ace Hardware. He was a member of the Pine Island Community Church, VFW and American Legion. He was a World War II ball turret gunner 36-mission veteran.
He was survived by his wife, Beverly Hodge of Blue Crab Key in Bokeelia; his sons, Jeff of Paris, Ill.; Andy of Bangor, Maine, and Tom of Yorktown, Va. He has eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Jan. 1, 2013.
A memorial will be held in Paris, Ill., in the spring 2013.
