Paul “Paulie Gecko” Ivan Honcharenko

Paul “Paulie Gecko” Ivan Honcharenko, 41, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 2, 2012, in Cape Coral. He was born July 8, 1971, in Port Huron, Mich., to Michael and Carolyn Honcharenko. He attended South Haven, Michigan, Public Schools. He moved to Florida in 1989, and spent the next 20 years as a musician performing with his band, the Geckos, and many others over the years. He was a fun-loving person and never met a stranger. He loved his family and after the birth of his son, Dalton, his entire life revolved around Dalton.
Surviving is his son, Dalton, in Bokeelia; his parents, Father, Michael Honcharenko, and step-mother, Carol, St. Joseph, Mich.; mother, Carolyn Kimes, and step-father, Kevin Bowen, Bokeelia; and brothers and sistersin-law, Eric (Charlotte) Honcharenko, Cape Coral, and Peter (Tashia) Honcharenko, St. Joseph, Mich. Other surviving family members include his grandmother, Eloise Kimes, Elkhart, Ind.; nieces, Haley and Ellie Honcharenko, St. Joseph, Mich.; and step-sister, Sherri (Tim) Richards, Riverside, Mich., step-brother, Sean (Holly) Soulard, Baroda, Mich.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Preceding him in death were paternal grandparents, Arseny and Fedora Honcharenko, Goshen, Ind.; and maternal grandfather, Merle F. Kimes, Elkhart, Ind.
