Wolfgang Richard Schulz

Wolfgang Richard Schulz passed away at home on June 27, 2012, of pancreatic cancer. He was born in Berlin, Germany, Jan. 11, 1941, to Hilde and Walter Schulz. He lived in Germany until 1953 when his family arrived in Baltimore. He served a tour in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He returned to Maryland and lived in Annapolis, Kent Island and Ohio.

His business career was mainly with Western Electric, AT&T and Lucent Technologies as a data specialist, manager and teacher.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years Linda (Hennessy) Schulz of St. James City; his son, Alec Schulz of Kent Island, Md.; brother, Reinhard Karl Schulz (Becky) of Grand Caymans, stepson, James Patrick Hennessy of Pasadena, Md.; step-grandchildren, Thomas Hennessy and Melissa Hennessy of Maryland; and cousins, Dorle Cohen, Edith Cummins, Juergen Weiss and Walter Lehman.

He retired while in Annapolis, Md., to enjoy his famous parties at his “Wolfgang’s Dock Bar” and boating the Chesapeake waters with his wife and the Kent Island Yacht Club. He was a gracious host who lived to entertain and be entertained.

He was a member of the St. James Boat Club, Pine Island Boat Club, VFW Post 4353, American Legion Post 0136 and Moose Lodge 1954. He was the living definition of the word “Friend,” always ready to lend a hand. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and acquaintances.

A celebration of his life will be held at the American Legion Post 0136 on Aug 18, from at noon to 5 p.m.
