Kyle Michael Washington

Kyle Michael Washington, U.S.M.C., 26, of Twenty Nine Palms, Calif., passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, in San Diego, Calif. He was born on Nov. 25, 1985, in North Fort Myers. He was a graduate of Dunbar High School, Class of 2004. He has served with the United States Marine Corps since 2006. He was an avid outdoorsman, particularly enjoying fishing and scuba diving. He was a good man and a proud Marine. Keeping with his wishes, his organs were donated so others may live. He will be truly missed by many.

He is survived by his loving family, including his parents, Dennis and Cynthia Washington; sister, Katie Washington of North Fort Myers; paternal grandparents, John and Jean Washington of Olean, N.Y.; niece, Ellie Ford; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Judy Johnson.

A celebration of Kyle’s life was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 S.W. Pine Island Road, Cape Coral. Full military honors were provided by the United States Marine Corps. His remains will be scattered at sea in Key Largo, which was a favorite family vacation spot.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his memory be made to the U.S.O., so they can continue to help other military personnel and their families.
