Richard Dale Slagle

Richard Dale Slagle, 76, of Cape Coral died June 12, 2012, at his residence. He was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Altoona, Pa., a son of Claudius Dale and Sue (Filler) Slagle.

A 50-year resident of Cape Coral, he was the owner Dix Specialties in Cape Coral, dealing with custom boat canvas and upholstery.

The husband of the late Bette Slagle, who died in 2003, he is survived by his children, Thomas Michael (Ann) Slagle of Lacey, Wash., Daniel James Slagle engaged to Krissi Diane Heard of Tampa, Richard Charles Myers of Lawton, Okla., Raymond Lawrence Myers of Lawton, Okla., Bryant Allen (Julie Ann) Myers of Glen Burnie, Md.; his daughter-in-law, Gail Myers of Sylva, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his brother, Thomas Slagle of Pine Island; and his dog, Lulu, who he adored.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son, Duane Scott Myers.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family.
