Davene B. Shell

Davene B. Shell, 87, of Cape Coral passed away Monday, June 4, 2012, at Hope Hospice. She was born Dec. 17, 1924, in Claremore, Okla., to Dave and Minnie Springer Bishop.

Mrs. Shell moved to Florida in 1952 where she was a was a music minister at First Assembly of God in Clearwater for 23 years and then at Trinity Church in Miami for seven years, and most recently at Faith Assembly of God in North Fort Myers. She enjoyed every facet of music and the ministry it brought to people.

Mrs. Shell is survived by her loving family, including her son, Scott (Gayle) Shell of Cape Coral; daughters, Linda Driver of Cape Coral and Kimberly Graban of Florence, N.J.; grandchildren, Christy (Clark) Newman, Matthew (Carrie) Shell, Michael Shell, Jeffrey Driver, Whitney (Andrew) Birney, Gabriel Graban, Jordan Graban; and greatgranddaughter, Cailey Newman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Shell, in 2004.

Visitation will be today, June 6, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 S.W. Pine Island Road, Cape Coral. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 7, at Faith Assembly of God with Pastor Phil Goss officiating. Burial will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
