Wayne David Oder
Wayne David Oder, son of Euhel and Hazel Oder, now deceased, who was born in Flat River, Missouri, Oct. 3, 1944, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011. After graduating from Flat River High School in 1962, he attended college at Linn Technical Institute, in Linn, Mo. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. On Nov. 30, 1968, he married Kyllene Nan McClintock of Farmington, Mo. During his time in the military, Wayne and Kyllene lived in Missouri, California and Ohio. After he completed his military service, the couple moved to Peoria, Ill., where they raised a happy family, and were active members of the community.
Mr. Oder enjoyed a distinguished 30-year career as an engineer at Caterpillar, Inc. before retiring to Cape Coral in 2002. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a generous friend and an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death in 2007 by his wife, Kyllene.
He is survived by his two sons, Troy (kim) Oder of Elmhurst, Ill., and Aaron Oder of Delray Beach, Fla.; grandsons, Ethan and Cameron Oder; brother, Phil Oder of Park Hills, Mo.; and sister, Mary Ann Baker, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on Monday, Dec. 12, between 4 and 6 p.m., at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 S.W. Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral.
