Albert Tidwell

Albert Tidwell (Bert), 78, of Pine Island, Florida passed away Oct. 12, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife Dianne Davis Tidwell, and Sally Maxson Tidwell, his parents, Albert L. Tidwell II and Janet MacGregor and brother, Gregor Tidwell.

A Commissioned Officer in the US Army serving in the Korean War, he practiced law in Columbus Ohio for more than 20 years. He moved to Florida in 1986 and sold real estate for Pine Island Realty. In 1994, Bert returned to his passion, practicing law, and did so until his sudden death.

He was an accomplished pianist playing the organ occasionally at church, a facilitator when building the Pine Island United Methodist Church sanctuary, served on the Matlacha Pine Island Fire Control District from 1989 to 1999, loved the OSU Buckeyes, enjoyed fishing, and traveling with his cherished wife. The Master of his work, he will be missed by clients, family and friends that have come to know his loving and caring ways.

Survived by his wife, Carolyn, with whom he shared a very special five years, his two children, Lorah (Lorie) M. Tidwell and Albert (Al) L. Tidwell IV (Christine); grandson, Christopher; grandchildren, Amy (Shane), Aaron (Gloria) children, Paige, Bryce and Brooke; Carolyn’s children, Nikki and Michele (David) children, Courtney, Caitlin and Tyler; sister-in-laws, Paula Davis Eichbauer (Ken and Ashley) and Donna Davis Kill (Jim and family); and Beulah Sellers Davis.

A celebration of his life will be held with family and friends from noon-3 p.m. with sharing at 1 on Nov. 19 at 2209 Macadamia Lane, St. James City, FL 33956.
