Nina ‘Peggy’ Waters

Nina “Peggy” Margaret Waters, 61, of Cape Coral passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011. She was born on Oct. 10, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina and lived in suburban Maryland until 1988 when she moved to Cape Coral, Fla.
Peggy’s passions were family, friends, politics and Disney World. As a coach’s wife, Peggy was lovingly referred to as “Coach Mom” by the Basketball and Golf Teams at Carroll High School, Washington D.C., McNamara High School, Forestville, MD and Mariner High School, Cape Coral. Peggy retired from Beall’s as a customer service representative. She had the distinction of meeting three United States Presidents and was a Delegate to the 2010 Florida Democratic Convention. Peggy also worked for the Lee County Election Office and the 1990 U.S. Census Bureau.
Peggy is survived by her loving family including her husband of 41 years, Martin Waters; daughter, Dana Waters; her son-in-law, Corey Waite; father, James A. Schofield; brothers, James M. Schofield and Timothy Schofield. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Nina Schofield and brother, Jimmy Schofield.
Peggy’s family wishes to thank the numerous doctors, their staffs and her “Dream Team” along with the countless friends in living her life to its fullest during her 22 year battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Breast Cancer.
