Wilma I. Ely
Wilma I. Ely, age 92 of Greenville, Ohio and formerly of Bokeelia, Florida passed away at 2:10 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Sterling House of Greenville, Ohio. Wilma was born June 26, 1918 in Buffton, Ohio and the daughter of the late Isaiah and Caroline (Augsburger) Welty.
Wilma was a registered nurse retiring in the early 1970s from the Lutheran Hospital of Ft. Wayne,Indiana.
She was a member of the Retired American Nursing Association, Hobby Club of Pine island Florida, an active member of Bible Study and the United Methodist Church of Pine island. Wilma was very well known for her basket weaving and knitting.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry B. Ely in 2007. They were married in 1977. She was also preceded in death by a brother Walter Welty; sisters Barbara Fleming, Edna Fleming and Viola Peters as well as a nephew Wayne Fleming.
She is survived by a nephew Norman Fleming; nieces Esther (Jim) Woodworth, Marcine (Weldon) Geiger, Barbara (David) Ernest, Sarah Lou (Tom) Moneer, Arlene (Gene) Derringer and Carolyn (Don) Beitz.
Graveside Funeral services were held at Abbottsville Cemetery, Greenville on June 90, with the Rev.Steve Harman officiating.
It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to the United Methodist Church of Pine Island, Florida or the State of the Heart Hospice of Darke County Greenville, Ohio)
