Robert Michael Tobin
Robert Michael Tobin, 73, of Bokeelia, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011. He was born on Jan. 7, 1938 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He moved here from Reno, Nev., six years ago to pursue his love of fishing. Robert was a member of the Pipefitters Union in New York, California and Nevada. He attended Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Robert was very active in A.A. for over 29 years where he was a leader and sponsor to many people.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Joan Carole Tobin; children, Robert Tobin, Alicia Tobin, Elizabeth Aurora all of New York, and Allen (Ida) Bennett of New Jersey. He is predeceased by his son, John Tobin and step-son, David Mandelbaum.
Memorial visitation were held from 11 a.m. until his Celebration of Life Service at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Cape Coral Hospital for their compassionate care. His wife, Joan (crossing guard at P.I.E.) would like to thank everyone on the island for your thoughts and concerns during this difficult time.
