Dean Allen Price
Dean Allen Price, 41, went home to the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011. He was born on Oct. 1, 1969 in Fort Myers. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Price, his sister Catherine (Edwards) Campbell and his mother, Virginia “Ginny” Price.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Linda (Malone) Price, his most loved daughter Maegan Price or as he called her his “Doodlebug,” his nephew Bryant Swartz, who was more like a son than a nephew, his brother Michael Edwards, his father-in-law and mother in-law Dick and Brenda Malone, three aunts, many cousins, nieces and nephews and numerous family and friends.
Dean graduated for North Fort Myers High School in 1987. After high school he enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country for five years as a “Seabee” in Naval Battalion NMCB74 based in Gulfport, MS. He was in Operation Desert Storm and was a Gulf War Veteran. He was a machinist and loved his job. After leaving the Navy he worked for Advanced Machine Repair for 13 years, followed by two years at Utility Lines Construction. He was currently employed as a utility worker for the Lee County School District.
In 1989 he met the love of his life, Linda Malone, and they were married in June 1990. They have cherished 22 “Priceless” years together. In August 2004, they welcomed their beautiful baby girl Maegan into this world and she was the “joy of his life.” You would never meet a better father and his face would light up at the sight of his little girl. Dean’s first passion in life was to take care of his family. He always put others first.
When he wasn’t working his favorite thing to do was to “go to the woods” and hunt, fish and ride his swamp buggy. He just loved the outdoors and his dogs Casey, Jack and Ella. Dean made quite an impact on anyone who crossed his path and if you met him you would never forget him! The loss of this great man leaves a huge hole in many hearts today. Life will not be the same without him and he will forever remain in our hearts.
The family received friends on Friday, Feb. 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral. The funeral was at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, at the funeral home.
