Josephine Brimacombe Miller

Josephine Brimacombe Miller, 93 of St. James City and Manistique, Michigan passed away on Jan. 7, 2011 at her home in St. James City. She was born in New Washington, Ohio to Ignatius and Wilhemina Miller on July 31, 1917. Jo was an active classroom assistant at Pine Island Elementary School, active in her churches, Mary Magdalene Parish in Cooks, MI and Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, Bokeelia, FL. She was a member of Pine Island Art Association and the Manistique Art Club. Jo was an art instructor in Florida and Michigan, and as an artist working with pastels, oil, acrylic, pine needle work and china painting. Jo won several awards including Best of Show for her artwork and china painting both in Michigan and Florida.
She is survived by her loving family including her husband, Robert Frederick Miller; children, Judy (Richard) Kahle of Manistique, James (Pat) Brimacombe of Tomahawk, WI, Deborah (Ernie) Lovell of Cleveland, OH, John (Elaine)Miller of Canton, MI, Anita (John) Hartlep of South Lyon, MI; grandchildren, Lynn (Kevin) Tilton, Ron (Sherri) Kahle, Craig (Cindy) Brimacombe, Corey (Heather) Brimacombe, Heather (Todd) Leverance, Andrew (Kim) Lovell, Alex Lovell, Julie Miller, Robert John(Lauren) Miller, Victoria Hartlep, Steven Hartlep; great grandchildren, Jacob, Elise, Tatum, Vincent, Max, Charlie, Ben, Emmy, Brody, Jared, Nathan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Glenn Brimacombe in 1990.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, Bokeelia, FL.
