Eloise A. Rogers
Eloise A. Rogers, 75, of Coldwater, Mich., and Bokeelia died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at her home in Coldwater. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
Eloise was born June 17, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Wesley & Sarah (Brining) Orlemann. She married Thomas Rogers on July 5, 1958, in Cincinnati.
Mrs. Rogers graduated from the University of Cincinnati with her B.S. in nursing. She spent many years in the Chicago area where she had worked at an adult nursing facility before working at Rush Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago for 20 years. She then spent another 20 years in nursing at Glen Oaks Hospital in Glendale Heights. She had a great love of babies which led her to Special Care Nursing, taking care of infant children and she was a certified childbirth educator teaching Lamaze for many years.
Mrs. Rogers retired from her nursing career in 2000, when she and her husband began spending winters in Bokeelia and summers in Coldwater. She was a member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church in Glen Ellyn, Ill., and enjoyed playing bingo and cards in her cribbage and bridge clubs. She also loved crafts and was especially skilled in sewing, knitting and quilting.
Eloise is survived by her husband Tom, her son Keith (Shari Katich-Rogers) Rogers of N. Aurora, Ill., her daughter Becky (Jim) Norris of Glen Ellyn, Ill., her grandchildren Matthew McCreedy of Lisle, Ill., Tegan Rogers, Cullen Rogers of N. Aurora, Ill., Thomas Norris, Katelyn Norris of Glen Ellyn, Ill., brothers and sisters-in-law Don and Ann Rogers of Blountville, Tenn., and Jean and Al Watters of Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by both parents and uncles Hank (Lucille) Brining, Justin (Neva) Brining and Howard Orlemann.
