Michael Elnicki
Michael Elnicki, 79, of Pine Island and Lisbon, Conn., passed away June 16, 2009.
Born Dec. 24, 1930, in Versailles, Conn., he was a son of Nickolas and Anna Elnicki, now deceased. He was also predeceased by his sister, Mary, and brother, John.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Roberta (Smead Mell) Elnicki; his brother, Andy; his step-children, Michael (Millie) Mell, SueAnn (Brian) Roberge, Kenny Mell and Stevie (Tina) Mell; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.
He worked for many years at the Sprague Papermill and retired in 1980 from Federal Paperboard in Versailles. He also served his country by enlisting in The United States Navy for four years.
He liked spending his time fishing, visiting the Bahamas and Atlantic City and debating with friends. He was a passionate New York Yankees fan since his boyhood.
A memorial service was held on Pine Island June 20. He was interred in Connecticut.
