Ruth Evelyn Wagner, 84, was born in Detroit, Mich., Wayne County, on Oct. 4, 1924, the youngest of six children of WIlliam Wagner and Louise Kalwa. Ruth had been divorced for many years. They were married in Detroit Michigan with family and friends present on Oct. 16, 1971.
They moved from Detroit in 1976 to St. James City after Jim retired from Ford Motor Co., after 38 years with the company. Ruth continued to work in the restaurant business in Florida until Jim needed more care at home due to health issues. Ruth was very active with the Christian community, volunteering for the FISH organization, as well as spending many hours in the kitchen at the Fishers of Men Lutheran Church. She also attended services at the Methodist church. They moved back to Michigan in July 2006 to American House Senior Living Residence in Taylor, Mich. They were forever at each other’s side until death separated them.
Ruth passed away on April 23, 2009 with all four of Jim’s children at her side and many of the grandchildren.
They were both the babies of their families and the last living members. With their passing, a long story has come to an end, however the next generation continues the laughter and still feels their warmth and love.
