Helen Fay Cox
Helen Fay Cox, 88, of Cape Coral, passed away on April 3, 2009. She was born on Oct. 31, 1920, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Jordan Franklin and Mary Maude (Penrod) Parker. She was the postmaster with the United States Postal Service in Ingalls, Ind., and retired in 1985. She moved to Florida in 1994. She was a member of the Pine Island United Methodist Church and a former member of the Ingalls United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren, gardening, line dancing and volunteering her time to visit nursing homes.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her daughter, Phoenix “MaryAnn” McKinney; son, Franklin Hugh (Barbara) Cox; grandchildren, Gillian Renee Burkett, Franklin Hugh (Kimberly) Cox II, Cheryl Lynn (William) Chandler; great-grandchildren, Jordan Marie Burkett, Nathaniel Joseph Burkett, Blake Rober Cox, Cameron Robert Cox, Diana Kaitlyn Cox, Caleb Samuel Chandler, Joshua Daniel Chandler, Hannah Nicole Chandler and Zachary Jordan Chandler.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Hugh Cox, in 1977, and granddaughter, Brenda Michelle Cox in 1976.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pine Island United Methodist Church.
Burial will be at Mendon Cemetery in Pendleton, Ind.
Arrangements are by Coral Ridge Funeral Home, Cape Coral.
