E. Paul Hoover
E. Paul Hoover, 83 , of Matlacha and formerly, York, Pa. passed away Monday, April 6, 2009, at Hospice House in Cape Coral. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Barnhart) Hoover. The couple celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary May 11, 2008.
A graveside service was held on Monday, April 13 at Prospect Hill Cemetery in York, Pa. Full military honors were provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard.
He was born in York on May 2, 1925, a son of Elvin and Susan B. (Shade) Hoover. now deceased. He owned and operated Hover-Wilbert Burial Vault Company in York, Pa., from 1962 through 1991, when he retired. He was commander of the York Power Squadron from 1973 to 1974 and was a member of the Red Lion Elk Club and Pine Island Moose Lodge. He was a past member of both the Pine Island VFW and American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as an aerial gunner in World War II from 1943 to 1946.
He leaves his daughter, Vickie (William) Miller of Spring Grove, Pa.; son Michael P. (Linda) Hoover of Mt. Wolf, Pa.; two step-children, Tara E. (Dave) Erdenbrack of York, Pa., and Todd E. (Jeannette) Stambaugh of York, Pa.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A son, Robert Malone preceded him in death.
