Jean Hester

Jean Hester, 76, a five-year resident of Imlay City, Mich., and formerly of St. James City and Romeo, Mich., area, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Tory Beaumont Hospital. She was born April 21, 1932, in Bloomington, Ind., the daughter of Euell and Emerine (Keith) Neely.

She married Howard Hester on March 2, 1951, in Indianapolis. She worked for many different companies and retired from H&R Block at their branch in Washington Township. She previously worked at the Stitchn’time in Romero, as a seamstress at Shotwell’s Men Wear in Romeo and also had worked doing brass fittings at Weatherhead Company in Angola, Ind. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening and all types of needlework.

Mrs. Hester is survived by her husband, Howard of Imlay City; children, Dennis (Teresa) Hester of Romeo, Mark (Bev) Hester of Imlay City, Sharon (John) Kuhn of Romeo and Julie (John) Salsido of Imlay City. Grandchildren include Nicholas and Brandon Kuhn and Noelle Salsido. She is also survived by sibling, Grace Donaldson of Illinois, and Gladys Wells and Betty (Jack) Lee, both of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Majeski of the Grace Lutheran Fellowship of Bruce Township officiating. Burial will follow in the Bruce-Armada Cemetery in Bruce Township. Visitation will take place on Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. the hour of service.
