Robert L Gessmann
Robert L Gessmann, 84, formerly of Akron, Ohio, passed away suddenly Jan. 30, 2009, in Blairsville, Ga., with his son, Don, at his side.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in Europe. He was a graduate of Kenmore High School and was employed and retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co.
He lived his retirement years in St. James City and had moved to Blairsville, Ga., in 2006.
He is survived by sons, Dennis of Barberton, Ohio, Darrell of Akron, Ohio, Donald (Amy) of St. James City and David (Connie) of Shreve, Ohio; daughter, Deborah of Cape Coral; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Henry (Betty) and Earl (Janis); a sister, Kathryn; numerous nieces and nephews.
Six sisters and one grandson preceded him in death.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date by family members at Lakewood Cemetery in Akron, Ohio.
