Barbara L. Weller
Barbara Lee Myers Weller, 65, of Chapin, SC, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009 at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC after complications of pneumonia.
Born July 22, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Clarence F. Myers and Doris L. Bailey. She worked with Non-profit organizations helping with the homeless, hungry and disenfranchised. Her greatest pleasure was working with the Tender Living Care organization in Florida, which provided Christian foster homes as an alternative to state agency programs.
She had resided briefly in Chapin with her oldest daughter since retiring in the fall of 2006. Prior to retirement she lived in Cape Coral, formerly in Bokeelia and in Westminster, MD.
Since retiring she enjoyed spending time with friends and family, attending the “Lunch Buddies of Crooked Creek Park” and traveling to the local historical sites in the South Carolina area.
Surviving are daughters, Cindy Marie Archer of Chapin, SC and Robin Lee Archer of St. James City; grandchildren, Lee Ammon Archer of Oconto, WI and Chelsea Louis Archer of Cape Coral; brother Clarence F. Myers of Hanover, PA; a sister, several aunts and uncles, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
She generously donated her body to the University of South Carolina Medical College.
