John (Jack) William Dayton
John (Jack) William Dayton, Sr., 65, of Bokeelia, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, with his loving wife, Margo at his side. He was born on Oct. 13, 1943, in Akron, Ohio, to Richard Sickles Dayton, Sr. and Elizabeth Alice (Kennedy) Dayton and moved to Florida when he was just a baby. He served in the Army from 1961-64 with the 101st Airborne. He then joined the IBEW Local Union 16 in Evansville, Ind., and went through the apprenticeship program and became a Journeyman electrician. He was an electrician for 43 years and retired in 2006.
He is survived by his loving wife Margaret (Margo); eight children, Bill and Ginger of Indianapolis, Paul and Barb of Newburgh, Ind., Peggy and Jim of Marshall, Ill., Melindia and Mike of West Terre Haute, Ind., Robert and Kelly of Cape Coral, Dawn and Mark of Terre Haute, Ind., Susan and Tim of Evansville, Ind., and Michael and Salina of Maple Valley, Wash.; three brothers, Rick and Marlene of Crystal River, Fla., Larry and Laura of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Harry and Vann of Little Rock, Ark.; three sisters, Susan and Marty Elliott of Marion, N.C., Deborah and Luke Lucarelli of Wilkes Barre, Pa., and Cathy and Rick Williams of N.C.; 22 grandchildren, Chelsea, Kaitlyn, Bethany, Jeff, Julia, Scot, Allie, Katie, Michael, Mathew, Robert, Derrick, Tony, Josh, Robert, Briana, Tasha, Anthony, Ashley, Daniel, Abby, Amanda; and one great-grandchild, Shannon, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Funeral service will be private for the family. Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
