Lee County announces holiday office closure
Most Lee County administrative operations will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26, in observance of the Christmas holiday as well as on Dec. 30 and Jan. 2 for the New Year’s holiday.
Despite the holiday closures, trash collection schedules will remain on customers’ regular pickup days.
Here is a look at holiday schedule adjustments:
Solid Waste
Solid Waste offices and the Topaz Court Solid Waste Annex will be closed on Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26. The Resource Recovery Facility in Buckingham will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 24, but open on Friday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 26.

As mentioned above, there will be no change to customers’ collection schedules.
Lee County Utilities
Dec. 23 through Dec. 26, the Customer Service Center will be closed.
Dec. 30 through Jan. 2, the Customer Service Center will be closed.
LeeTran
LeeTran services will end at about 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24, and resume on Monday, Dec. 26.
There will be no service on Jan. 1.
Parks & Recreation
Saturday, Dec. 24, and Sunday, Dec. 25, beaches, boat ramps, parks and preserves will be open. The Administration office will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26. Centers and pools are closed Saturday, Dec. 24, and Sunday, Dec. 25. Administration, centers and pools resume normal operating hours Tuesday, Dec. 27, except the following recreation centers, which will be closed for gym-floor maintenance from Dec. 26 to Jan. 8.

o Veterans Park Recreation Center
o Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center
Saturday, Dec. 31, and Sunday, Jan 1, beaches, boat ramps, parks and preserves will be open. The Administration offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 30, and Monday, Jan. 2. Centers and pools are closed Saturday, Dec. 31, and Sunday, Jan. 1. Administration, centers and pools resume normal operating hours Tuesday, Jan. 3, except the recreation centers closed for gym floor maintenance listed above.
Library System
Dec. 24 through Dec. 26, all branches will be closed. Library Administration will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26.
Dec. 31 through Jan. 2, all branches will be closed. Library Administration will be closed Dec. 30 and Jan. 2.
Domestic Animal Services
Saturday, Dec. 24, the Lost & Found Pet Center and the Pet Adoption Center, 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers, will be closed. Normal hours resume Dec. 26.
Saturday, Dec. 31, the Lost & Found Pet Center and the Pet Adoption Center will be closed. Normal hours resume Jan. 2.
