Those favorite South Cape haunts will release the ghouls and goblins this weekend.

The 3rd Annual South Cape Spooktacular Drink and Treat will take place Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. Hosted by the South Cape Hospitality and Entertainment Associations, 12 locations will serve up two-ounce drink samples and candy. One of the trolley stops will feature a Halloween photo booth.

“The theme is Halloween and adult trick-or-treating,” Donna Meola, executive director of the associations, said on Tuesday. “All of the drinks have some type of Halloween theme.”

Some selections will include A Witch’s Kiss from Coconuts Bar & Grill, Blue Dracula by Tubby’s City Hangout, Zombie Punch at the Dixie Roadhouse and Frozen Ghost from Rack’em Spirits & Times.

The trolley stop in Big John’s plaza will feature the photo booth. As part of the event, a Halloween costume contest will be held for event participants; their photos will be posted online for voting.

“For one week, people will vote on the best costume on Facebook,” she said.

The winner will receive a $500 grand prize; individual and group entry is permitted.

Only 1,000 tickets are available for the event.

As of Tuesday, more than 300 tickets had been sold online alone.

Meola urged those interested to secure their tickets quickly.

“We were close to selling out last year,” she said.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 day of.

The advance tickets can be purchased online at: www.eventbrite.com by searching for “South Cape Spooktacular Drink and Treat.” They can also be picked up at any of the participating venues.

During the event, trolley hostesses will ask trivia questions for prizes.
