Anthony Larry Masters, 50, was sentenced to 30 years in prison today, for robbing a bank in Cape Coral. Masters was found guilty of one count of robbery following a one-day trial on Feb. 27, 2020. The defendant was sentenced as a habitual felony offender and habitual violent felony offender, which doubled his possible prison time, according to the State Attorney’s Office. He was sentenced to the maximum sentence with those enhancements.

The defendant robbed the Synovus Bank in Cape Coral on May 28, 2019. He slid a threatening note to the bank teller. Masters was handed a small amount of money and fled in his truck.

The Cape Coral Police Department investigated the bank robbery and were able to identify and apprehend Masters soon after the crime.
