Three Fort Myers Police Department officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome an investigation into an altercation at the Dixie Roadhouse.

The officers were off-duty at the time of the alleged incident.

FMPD was notified of the incident by the Cape Coral Police Department and subsequently suspended the officers with pay, the agency said in a release issued issued early Tuesday evening.

The investigation is continuing, CCPD police officials said.

“The Cape Coral Police Department is currently investigating an incident involving three off-duty Fort Myers Police Department Officers,” the release from the CCPD also issued Tuesday evening states. “The incident stems from an altercation that took place at Dixie Roadhouse. The agency notified the Fort Myers Police Department of the investigation and is working with our partners at the State Attorney’s Office to ensure the integrity of the investigation.”

CCPD did not respond to a question asking whether any arrests had been made.

Because it is an active criminal investigation, no additional information will be released at this time, officials said.
